Translated from Russian and written by Cyber 11 a.ka. "Rivethead" It's not actually a full-length release, just a promo-single that's extremely limited in quantity. Remember my words, these two guys from Oregon, Jonathan Case and Z. Wager, will show themselves in the future and raise hell. Don't ask me to name the exact genre of the music they create, I cannot distinctly answer. On one hand the scent of the old-school style, such as Numb, is present and is closer to their more atypical sound. On the another, it's strongly inspired by experimental electronics. Yet with that explosive mixture, it sounds rather actual and modern. You may find something similar in the sound of "pretending-to-act-quiet" yet harsh much like the musician Marc Horstmeier or the late 80s style of Skinny Puppy. I'm not kidding, all my musical knowledge is insufficient to define what B.i.O's music resembles. AS stated earlier, it's in the vein of Numb and Skinny Puppy yet imagine these bands never existed. Odd sound, odd lyrics, odd emotional images drawn by musical expression...odd but irresistibly attractive. One second it may almost sound poppish yet the next moment you're stunned by an impact of a chaotic, experimental whirlwind. I wont give you any sort of forecast. B.i.O may remain in hearts of their closest and tenderly adoring friends. They may become a supernova and start a new revolutionary trend of electronic music. B.i.O is one of the most unordinary bands that I have heard recently. Too unusual, too original to tell something particular in general. These words aren't of praise but of stupefaction. My main impression of Bound.in.Oblivion.: they came to stun the audience with an overloaded of contemporary variety. Even I'm impressed, what else do I have to say to express my respect and not to seem banal? - Cyber II a.k.a. Rivethead |
